Game Overview

Your nation is in turmoil after the recent revolution.  New politicians are stepping up to lead the government, and are seeking your help to get ahead.  Can you outwit your opponents and become the most powerful puppet master of all?

You play one of six unique characters, each with a different specialty, who manipulate politicians to advance your secret objectives.  You earn victory points when candidates matching your secret objectives and secret clients hold valuable public offices.

Politicians start out as Deputies and compete for promotion to Minister.  The 4 Ministers compete in elections for the top seat of Prime Minister.

Politicians have various traits that synergize with certain cards indicated by Militant, Social, and Diplomatic tags.  Matching these tags boosts the effect.

Action cards also have tags for three Skills, which you may  advance these skills for greater effects.  Marketing uses advertising, social media, and the press to manipulate public opinion.  Network represents powerful people who are at your beck and call when you need to get something done.  Dirty Tricks ventures into slander, bribery, hacking, and more.

You may also hire an Assistant, each with a different minor ability that can be used once per turn.

Influence is the currency that makes things happen.  You pay the influence cost on your action cards to raise or ruin reputations and provide support or opposition in promotions, elections, and events.

Green markers represent support and positive effects, while red markers represent opposition and negative effects.  The candidate with the highest total wins, and the losing candidate is ousted.

The player with the ousted politician as their Secret Client scores victory points.  Deputies are worth the least, Ministers are worth more, and the Prime Minister is worth the most.

Each Year proceeds through several phases.  First you pick your Job, each with a different benefit.  In the Work phase, you get busy helping your Secret Clients.  Any vacancies resulting from Elections and Events are filled in the Promotion phases.  During the Refresh phase, you receive influence and refresh your hand of cards according to your rank.

The game ends after 7 years, or when there are no Deputies remaining to promote to a vacant Minister spot.

There are many paths to victory, and replay is huge with 140 Action Cards and a variety of Player characters, Assistants, and Jobs to choose from.  Which path will you take?
